Although very happy with riding drill, some of the Renegades got a bit restless and wanted something more daring. In true Renegade style, they broke the mold in 2008 with the introduction of the trick riding, high performance team called, the MidWest Renegade Dare Devils!!
Riders range in ages from 16 – 30+, from all walks of life; eager to push beyond what anyone thought was possible. They combine the precision of drill with the acrobatic flare of trick-riding, which brings a whole new level of excitement to drill team riding.
Most trick riding demonstrations consist of one person doing a trick, usually with a barrier to keep the horse moving in a straight line. The Dare Devils perform tricks 6-10 at a time, with no barriers.
Your Midwest Renegade Dare Devils!
Amanda and Donato
Amanda has been riding western since she was 5 years old. She has trained in dressage and western pleasure. In 2013, she started training with Jenny, and in 2015 found Donato. They joined the team in 2016 and she wouldn't have been able to do it without Donato. They have accomplished many challenging obstacles together . Amanda and Donato enjoy being part of the team and hope to accomplish more everyday!
Jackie and Meeko
Jackie has worked for several years at a therapeutic riding facility in the area. Through that exposure she learned of all the incredible capabilities horses can offer individuals. Learning to specialize in trick riding with the DareDevils is by far the highlight of her horse experience. This is Jackie's second season with the team but first season working with her horse Meeko. They are both thrilled to show off all they've learned together this season.
Kim and Libby
Kim has been with the Midwest Renegade Dare Devils since 2009. She came to the team as a gymnast and learned to ride from there. Libby has been on the team for almost four years now. However this is only the pair's second season as a duo. When not riding, Kim is a nurse at a local hospital. She believes riding is a great release of energy and stress and a great way to get out and do new things.
Larissa and Shadow
Larissa is currently a student at Iowa State University studying Animal Science - PreVet. She was one of the original Dirt Devils, and this is her fourth year riding with the Dare Devils. Trick riding has helped expand her riding abilities and Shadow, her retired Medieval Times horse, enjoys it, too. Shadow and Larissa also compete in eventing and perform bareback and bridleless. Horses have made her who she is today and she loves having them as part of her life.
Jenny and Outlaw
Jenny Vlahos started riding at 7 years old. She started out riding hunter/jumper, and then went on to 3 day eventing. A move out west and some time working at a couple guest ranches in Wyoming and Arizona gave her an incredible opportunity to really learn western riding.
Jenn and Kira
Jenn has been riding since she was 7 years old. She has been a member of the Midwest Renegades Dare Devils since 2010. Jenn's first horse Kira who is a paint Morgan have been together since 2009. They have accomplished many rewarding achievements and look forward to many more.
Dana and Sis
There were pony rides as a pre-schooler and lesson schedules starting at 5 but it wasn't until she met Sis that a horse settled into hear heart personally. Through much discussion and an incredible bond the precision of drill came alive between Dana and Sis. Over the past couple of years, while riding as a Dirt Devil, Dana has devoted more of her jumping lesson time to tricks. Now Dana is proud to join the MidWest Renegades Dare Devils.
Emma and Gangster
Emma is a 16 year old high school sophomore who has been riding western for about 4 years. Ever since she has seen the Daredevils perform, she has dreamed of being on the team. In 2016, Emma joined the team riding Gangster, a 4 year veteran of the Renegades. Emma loves horses so much that she aspires to become a large animal vet in the future.
Jordyn and Brandi
